Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Pause is built to work fully offline by default. There are no accounts and no data leaves your device unless you choose to sign in. This policy explains exactly what changes when you do, and the third-party services the app relies on either way.

Guest play (the default)

Nothing leaves your device. Without signing in, your best score, run history, and settings are stored locally on your phone. We have no account, no server record, and no way to identify you.

If you sign in

Signing in with Apple or Google is optional, and only needed to appear on the leaderboard or sync your progress across devices. Signing in stores:

Your local device data (best score, run history) is separate from your account and is never affected by signing in, signing out, or deleting your account.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (synced run history, avatar, stats, leaderboard position) at any time from the Account screen in the app. This is immediate and cannot be undone. Your local device data is untouched by this, exactly like signing out.

Analytics

To understand which parts of the app are actually used, we use Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service. It does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across other apps or websites, and this data is not linked to your name, email, or account.

Third-party services

The app is built on the following services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Children

Pause does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what guest play (fully local, no account) already avoids entirely.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
