Scored 0 to 100

Rewards consistency, not luck. Most players land in the 80s and 90s. 100 essentially never happens.

The seismograph trace

A live trace of your stillness while you play. Perfect stillness reads as a flatline. Any movement spikes it.

Under 30 seconds

Open the app, hold still for 20 seconds, see your score. No tutorial, no onboarding, nothing to learn.

Harder than it sounds

Even a calm, healthy hand never actually stops moving. A natural tremor at around 8 to 12 times per second runs in the background of everyone's nervous system, whether you notice it or not. Holding a phone truly still for 20 straight seconds means fighting a signal your body never turns off, which is exactly why a high score is a real, measurable feat and not a coin flip.

It's also 20 seconds of doing nothing else. No feed to check, no notification to answer, nothing to tap. Short, deliberate pauses like that are one of the simplest ways to interrupt a stressful moment, and most people's day never has one on purpose. Pause just gives it a score.

Questions

Is Pause free?

Yes, free with no account required to play.

Do I need an account?

No. Guest play is entirely local to your device - your best score and run history stay on your phone. Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want to appear on the leaderboard or sync progress across devices.

How is the score calculated?

From 0.00 to 100.00, based on how still you hold the phone over a 20-second run. The algorithm rewards consistency over luck, and large sudden movements cost far more than tiny corrections. Most players score in the 80s and 90s; a perfect 100 essentially never happens.

Is my data private?

Guest play never leaves your device. If you sign in, only what's needed to run the leaderboard and sync your progress is stored. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
